The Non-Timber Forest Products Exchange Programme-Philippines is an NGO that spearheads efforts to empower forest-dependent communities through non-timber forest products. The clients the NTFP-EP mainly serves are the indigenous peoples (IPs), whose lifelong ability to sustainably manage and use forest resources are threatened by pressures from mainstream society and by policies that have failed to take into account the IP’s culture and needs.
NTFP-EP Philippines is a member of NTFP-EP Aisa, a collaborative network of NGOs and community-based organizations working with forest-based communities to strengthen the capacity in the sustainable management of natural resources in the Philippines, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam and Cambodia.
