Alangan Occidental Pangwat Bakwaw or Association of the Mangyan Alangan Handicraft Producers in Occidental Mindoro was established last January 2011 during the Mangyan Livelihood Project through the NTFP EP Philippines. It was established with the goal of producing good quality handicraft products made of rattan and bamboo. However, after the Mangyan Livelihood Project, it shifted to the indigo powder production and production of natural dye sources such as anato, talisay, cogon, mayana and others with the assistance from NTFP EP Philippines and DOST PTRI. AOPB is also selected as the natural dye hub/center of the DOST-PTRI.
