MAMACILA represents the following municipalities of Claveria and Gingoog City, respectively: Barangay Mat-i, Sitio Manibay, Sitio Civoleg and Sitio Langguyod. The group was organized mainly to delineate ancestral boundaries and to have it officially recognized by the government under the Indigenous People’s Rights Act (IPRA) laws. The most common means of livelihood in the area is farming and labor services rendered to the informal sector to provide various services that does not pay taxes.
